Dentures

Not your Grandma’s dentures

At the office of Dr. AJ Gollofon DDS, we understand the hesitation that many of our Seattle patients face when it comes time to start thinking about dentures. Many of us have images engrained in our minds – whether from our grandparents, or pop culture – of clunky, ill-fitting dentures that always fall out at the most inopportune moments. Thankfully, with advances in modern dentistry, today’s dentures are a far cry from those of the not-so-distant past.

Dentures for the modern world

The main difference between dentures today and the dentures of previous generations is…well, everything. Today’s dentures are artfully crafted from durable, tooth-colored porcelain to look and function just like your natural teeth – only better!

Implant supported dentures

One of the biggest improvements in modern dentures is they can now be secured with dental implants. You’ll never have to worry about dentures slipping, moving, or falling out of place. Dental implants are tiny titanium posts that are surgically inserted into the gums and allowed to fuse with the jawbone, functioning as a replacement tooth root, and as an anchor for restorations like crownsbridges, or dentures. Dentures can be locked into place with dental implants for a permanent tooth replacement solution.

Should I get dentures?

If you are missing most or all of your teeth, or suffer from teeth that are badly broken or decayed, you may want to consider dentures. Dr. AJ Gollofon loves being able to restore patients’ smiles, and their lives with dentures and implant supported dentures.

Dentures can give you your smile, and your life back. Beautifully crafted to look and function just like your natural teeth (only better!) dentures will give you a smile that your grand kids will remember for a lifetime.
